It’s heeere! “Back-to-School” season is second only to Christmas as the most profitable retail season of the year – a $47.5 billion pot of gold. As you get started on your annual school supply shopping spree (watch out for the stampede at Staples) think about tossing some extras in your shopping cart for some of Montclair’s less fortunate kids.
The Montclair Episcopal churches of St. John’s and St. James are sponsoring their third annual back-to-school backpack drive. Please consider donating NEW backpacks for Montclair children, and dropping them off at either of the rectory offices. They wouldn’t mind receiving donations for all the other school supplies that the kids will be needing, too.
St. John’s is at 55 Montclair Ave, Montclair, (973) 746-2474. St. James’ is at 581 Valley Rd, Montclair, (973) 744-0270.
Meanwhile, if you want to spend less this year, here are some school supply penny-pinching tips.

It’s nice to see something being done for the poor underprivileged children of Montclair.
