mardigraskids.jpgStory by Nancy Breslin of CohabiTOT.
Mardi Gras starts today. The only thing I knew about Mardi Gras was that it involved people drinking and partying in the streets and something about beads. So we took a trip to the library to learn about the holiday. My son loves any excuse to dress up and use glitter glue, so he was thrilled with this project.
We had fun making masks and wearing our creations. Maybe we’ll have pancakes for dinner and later in the week we may try making a King Cake.

Materials:
1. Heavy Cardstock
2. Embellishments – feathers, sequins, stickers, glitter etc.
3. White glue
4. Paint
5. Straws
Instructions:
1. Download the PDF and print on heavy cardstock. (alternatively trace the template on to cardboard)
2. Cut out mask and slit for eyes.
3. Have fun embellishing– just make sure to keep glitter away from the eye.
Then turn on the music and have your own parade!
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
