A Fun Filled Baristaville Weekend

There are so many family events, it’s a shame that they are all on the same weekend. But not to worry, it’s still possible to enjoy a few. We told you about the cultural events and the Health and Wellness Day, but there are still more.

Here are this weekend’s highlights:


Get Nocturnal
Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange offers its Night Moves program tonight. Bring a flashlight and act like a bat. (September 24)
Have a Date Night
The Little Gym in Montclair lets you to drop of your kids and have a night out with it Parent Survival Night. (September 24).
The South Mountain YMCA helps out the next day with its Parents’ Night Out.

Get Spellbound
Studio B’s film series for kids Celluloid Candy launches with a screening of Spellbound in Maplewood. (September 26)
Raise Some Money
Run the Newstead 5K for Acheive Foundation in South Orange and help out the SOMA school district. (September 25)
Run, walk, or ride with your family to help raise funds for Jake’s Ride for Dystonia in Short Hills. (September 26)
Join the Interfaith Hospitality Network’s Fun Run in Brookdale Park and raise money for homeless families in Essex County. (September 26)
Join Garden State Equality’s Equality Walk in Maplewood Memorial Park and enjoy a picnic after your family walks for equality for all. (September 26)
Walk, run, roll, or rollerblade at Stroll ‘n’ Roll in Verona park to show your support for research that promotes the independence of people of all abilities. (September 26)
Groove in the Gardens
Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck perform at Montclair’s Van Vleck House & Gardens. (September 26)
Have Fun at a Festival or Block Party
The annual Montclair Crane Park Festival fills the triangle (September 25)
Check out Bloomfield’s HarvetFest, which offers more than 200 exhibitors, fun activities, great food and more. (September 25)
Party on the Plaza in Montclair offers great sales, a moonwalk, pumpkin painting, storytimes, and more. (September 25)
Have a blast at in Montclair’s Aunt Jean’s Toys & Treats annual Block Party–the dunk tank is always a hit. (September 26)
Do a Downward Dog
Get flexible at the MFEE Yogathon. This huge yoga event takes place on the Montclair High School football field and raises money for Montclair’s schools. (September 26)
