IMG_4148.JPGSure, the cooler, crisp days are a sign that autumn is arriving, but I always know it’s coming when Starbucks rolls out it’s Pumpkin Spice Latte. Pumpkin is really what autumn is all about to me.

Do you have a favorite place? Or feedback if one is more toddler friendly than others?

    Nancy,
Demerest Farms is a quick and easy trip for pumpkins and good for little kids. For a really fun day, I love Terhune Orchards. They have petting zoos, mazes, kids’ activities.

Fairfield Farms (on Big Piece Road in Fairfield) Is really nearby and is a great place for the smallest children–lots of kids activities for the 5 and under set.

When I was young, (along with Ben Franklin) the family trip was to Geiger’s Retaurant, Farm, Country Store and pumpkin & apple orchards.
They are still there and nice as ever, allthough I am sure it’s way way off the mental-map of Baristanetville dwellers. If interested, it’s on South Springfield Avenue in a town called Westfield.across from Ecco Lake Park and canoe rentals. Probably THE most beautiful park in Northern N.J.
