It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right folks, it’s the holiday season and what better way to get in the mood than to see The Nutcracker? We’re starting our Christmas celebration early with Sugar Plum Fairies.
One lucky person will win 4 tickets to see The Nunnbetter Dance Theatre’s production of Tchaikovsky’s Christmas classic, The Nutcracker. For a second stellar year, NDT students, pre-professionals and professional dancers present this full, lush production of the Christmas classic, complete with a growing Christmas Tree, Snow Flurries and The Sugar Plum Fairy at Montclair State University from December 17 – 19.

Silent night.
Adeste Fidelis. I love the extended notes in: “Gloria, gloria in excelsis Deo.”
That, or Rudolph.
Feliz Navidad
Christmas in the Carribean by Jimmy Buffet
Handel’s Messiah (but all of the music from The Nutcracker is right up there!)
silent night
My mom used to take me to see the Nutcracker every Christmas when I was little, I’d love to see it again.
I have 2 favorite songs – Bing Crosby singing White Christmas, and Nat King Cole’s version of The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting)
carol: Carol of the Bells
song: Christmas shoes
O Holy Night.
By far the song titled Lucy and Linus by Vince Guaraldi Trio for A Charlie Brown’s Christmas!!!
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. So sentimental…
The Little Drummer Boy sung by David Bowie and Bing Crosby
Bowie & Crosby’s Drummer Boy is the first song we listen to the morning after Thanksgiving every year! My daughter loves Jingle Bells & Jingle Bell Rock
The entire Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack is my holiday music of choice. There is something about Vince Guaraldi’s compositions that really set such a joyful tone to the season!
Stephen Colbert’s A Cold, Cold Christmas. Or George Michael’s Last Christmas.
“Deck us all with Boston Charlie” sung by Pogo and the gang. Walt kelly created the political cartoon back in the 40′s.

“O’ Christmas Tree”
We’ve circulated Xmas tapes for several years so have a great collection. While they wouldn’t qualify as “carols” I’d suggest a few great ones. Sometimes I’m with the BBC listeners who voted the Pogues / Kirsty MacColl “Fairytale of New York” as the top Christmas song ever. At other points I’ve leaned to “Someday at Christmas” from Stevie Wonder or “Little Cajun Drummer Boy” from Evan Johns and the H-Bombs.
gary hoey’s rock aroudn the christmas tree off of ho ho hoey.
juanjamon,
I love “Fairytale of New York!”
My favorite is a tie between Joy to the World and The Little Drummer Boy.
I saw this Nunnbetter Nutcracker performance at Montclair State University last year. It was terrific! My children’s classes also attended on the “school show” day and everyone enjoyed it!
Definitely The Little Drummer Boy.
O Holy Night – it’s a classic
“The Little Drummer Boy”
During the holiday season I love to listen to the entire soundtrack to the Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky, especially the dance of the sugar plum fairy.
Mahalia Jackson’s “Oh Holy Night” and Sting’s “Gabriel’s Message”
Jingle Bells. How can I purchase tickets?

I have always loved “Do you hear what I hear?” since the first time I heard it when my brother’s chorus sang it in elementary school.
Little Drummer Boy
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas! It’s a beautiful Song!!
Joy to the World
