Montclair Police Department Issue an Alert to Parents

Maybe I’m not so paranoid after all. This just in from the Montclair Police Department:

Dear Parent/ Caregiver/ Guardian:
 
We have been informed through the Montclair Police Department of an incident of attempted luring on Friday, October 29th.
 
Two middle school boys were followed from Cooper Avenue towards Lorraine Avenue. The suspect was reported as a white male, age 50-55 yrs. Old, with gray hair, dark (black) eyebrows, and no facial hair, approximately 6 ft. tall, heavy set (belly).
 
The suspect was wearing gold rimmed glasses, a black jacket, tan/beige pants, and black dress shoes.

We are reminding students – DO NOT TALK OR GO NEAR STRANGERS. REPORT ANY UNUSUAL SITUATIONS IMMEDIATELY TO AN ADULT. REMEMBER TO BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AND DO NOT WALK ALONE, IF POSSIBLE.

We are reminding parents – PLEASE PROVIDE SUPERVISION OF YOUR CHILDREN BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL, AND ON THE WEEKENDS, GOING TO AND FROM VARIOUS ACTIVITIES, EVENTS, ETC. PLEASE STAY IN CONSTANT COMMUNICATION AND CONTACT WITH YOUR CHILDREN.
