What are you doing on Sunday, May 1? I’ll tell you what I’m doing, I’m taking my family to Kindiefest in Brooklyn.

KindieFest is the world’s first-ever family music conference that focuses exclusively on music for kids and families. Started as a one day event of industry panels and show in 2009, Kindiefest keeps on growing. In its third year, it has become a three day event, ending with a public Family Festival.

This year’s festival has an impressive line-up including The Verve Pipe, Elizabeth Mitchell & You Are My Flower, Tim & the Space Cadets and more! You and your kids can groove to four hours of music at Littlefield.

My daughters will be joining Elizabeth Mitchell on the stage. Rushing the stage at 3-years-old was the start of our family’s ”career” with the band.

The Verve Pipe? Am I reading that right?

Yep. The Verve Pipe also makes family music now.

Alas, I won’t be there (I know this comes as a bitter disappointment to you, Georgette). I long ago gave up Brooklyn as a destination. And besides, if I rushed the stage they would only call pest control.

No! Brooklyn is dead to me. I’d rather go to Fukushima.

I grew up down the block from Tim of Tim & The Space Cadets. Despite not having kids of my own, I really like his music! He’s a sweetheart too. Looks like it’ll be a good time.
