Essex County Turtle Back Zoo Summer Camp

Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. poses with students from the Boys and Girls Club of Newark during their last day of summer camp at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo on Friday, August 19th.

The students, ages 7 to 10 years old, attended the weeklong program thanks to a grant from the Give the Kids Hope Foundation, Inc. The 40 students learned how animals adapted to their habitats, participated in a scavenger hunt to become familiar with the zoo, and competed in an “Animals Olympics” to see how humans compare with animals.
