Rosh Hashanah Family Fun

Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Wednesday, September 28. In addition to your local temple’s services, here are a couple of fun ways to celebrate the new year with your kids this weekend:

Mama Doni, a Montclair mom, shares her love of Jewish culture with kids in a fun and cool way as lead singer in The Mama Doni Band, winner of the 2008 Simcha Award. The band will perform a free family concert at Montclair’s Bnai Keshet this Sunday, September 25.

Dip Into Fall: A Mama Doni Concert and Rosh Hashanah Celebration
Who:
All ages.
What: A free family concert for the whole community with celebrated entertainer Mama Doni. Everyone is invited for apples and honey to welcome the New Year, holiday card-making and other activities concert.
Where: Bnai Keshet, 99 So. Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, NJ, 07042.
When: Saturday, September 25 beginning at 10 am. Mama Doni concert at 11 am.
Cost: Free.

The PJ Library offers  high-quality Jewish books and music each month to families raising Jewish children ages six months to 5 ½ years old in more than 125 communities across the United States and Canada. In addition to the book program, the PJ Library has been hosting fun, family events. Join them for a special apple picking, Rosh Hashanah storytime at Wightman’s Farm on Sunday.

What: Spend the day at the farm with your friends from PJ Library, JCC MetroWest and Morris County Connection. Enjoy fall, Jewish holiday-related crafts, PJ Library Rosh Hashanah stories, apple picking, apple and honey tastings and so much more.
Where: Wightman’s Farm, 1111 Mount Kimble Avenue, Morristown, NEW LOCATION for Sunday’s Wightman’s Farm Outing: Cooperman JCC in West Orange. The weather won’t stop the fun!
When: Sunday, September 25 at 1 pm.
