Glen Ridge’s Michael Overmyer, Juliette Candela, Sophia Vallejo and Mackenzie Carey volunteered to run this year’s Soles4Souls Shoe Drive. These dedicated teens set up collection boxes at Murdoch Shoes in Bloomfield, Fleet Feet in Montclair, the Glen Ridge High School and Ridgewood Avenue School. The collection culminated at the 2011 Ashenfelter Classic, Glen Ridge’s traditional Thanksgiving Day run, where hundreds of runners donated shoes.

The total overall number of shoes collected: 950 pairs! They surpassed last year’s collection by about 100 shoes.
