School of Rock Montclair is bringing some hot weekend concerts to Baristaville, including a first-ever Women Who Rock concert.
“Our enrollment has grown to the point where we can support five extremely diverse Performance Program concerts, and we have some amazing shows to present,” says Matt Sandoski, owner of School of Rock Montclair. Fans of dark industrial sounds will love the way our musicians give props to Nine Inch Nails. Dave Grohl devotees will get a big taste of the best of The Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and Them Crooked Vultures. Our ‘Women Who Rock’ show will feature performances of hits by Pink, Blondie, Hole, Amy Winehouse, Sheryl Crow, Janis Joplin, Garbage, Veruca Salt, Joan Jett, and many more. The many high points of Led Zeppelin’s career will be visited in what’s sure to be an amazing tribute concert. And our visit back to 1992 and ‘Michael Jackson’s Dangerous Tour’ will include Michael’s hottest solo hits as well as his Jackson Five smash singles.”
Personally, I’m very excited for the Women Who Rock concert. I was a pretty big Joan Jett fan back in the day, and not only because our names our similar and I looked a bit like her — or tried to — her music was cool.
