HackensackUMC Mountainside’s Annual The Big Latch On

Calling all Breastfeeding Mamas! Put that baby (or toddler) in a sling and head over to HackensackUMC Mountainside Hospital (formerly known as just “Mountainside Hospital) on Saturday, August 4 and join other nursing moms in solidarity at The Big Latch On Nurse In.

The event is in support of World Breastfeeding Week and The Big Latch On, a world-wide simultaneous breastfeeding event. According to its website, HackensackUMC Mountainside Hospital says, “that more than 80% of infants born here are exclusively or partially breastfeeding.”

From 9:30 am to noon, the School of Nursing Living Room will be full of nursing babies, their mamas and supporters. A Certified Lactation Consultant will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have about your breastfeeding experience.  There will also be prizes, guest speakers, refreshments and fun activities, such as:

  • Nutrition discussion and demonstration by Whole Foods Market: West Orange
  • Group Meditation Exercise lead by local meditation coach Jessica Morris
  • A Certified Lactation Consultant will be available to answer questions

Raffle prizes include:

  • Ameda Breast Pump
  • Nursing Bra & fitting
  • Mother/Baby portrait sitting with Best Friend Photography with free 11” x 14” print
  • And more!

 Breastfeeding moms.
