Pick Your Own Peaches

Peaches typically peak during July and August in our area, but they are peaking earlier and you can go pick your own peaches at nearby farms.

Peaches happen to be easily affected by the weather, especially rain and cooler temperatures, so it’s best to call the farm before you head over to make sure they have some peaches good enough to pick.

Here is a list of pick-your-own farms in NJ:

Great list – do you know if any of them are organic or low-spray?

Here’s one more place to check out — Treelicious Orchards (http://www.treeliciousorchards.com/). It’s run by the delightful Ginger who you can find selling her terrific peaches, other fruits and veg, along with superb homemade baked goods each week at the Montclair Farmer’s market. I’ve been out to the farm and it is well worth the trip.

I am pretty sure that Wightman’s Farms also has PYO peaches and nectarines.
