The 3rd Annual Jersey Tap Fest begins today and runs through Saturday, August 25. It’s a four day tap extravaganza with instruction for the smallest hoofers to adults ending in Tap n’ Time, a tap dancing show featuring all the participants from the classes.
Tap Fest offers 25 tap dance classes held at the Broadway Performing Arts dance Studio, 257 Broad Street, Bloomfield, to celebrate young, emerging tap artists and master classes running from August 23 -25.
Founded by Hillary-Marie Michael, Jersey Tap Fest provides repertoire classes to celebrate today’s young, emerging tap dance artists and master classes to celebrate the tap masters and allow them to train the artists who are the future face of the tap dance community. JTF instructors have impressive resumes.
The main stage performance, Tap N’ Timepromises you an entertaining evening of song, rhythmical dance and astounding tapping feet with performances by: 2011 Bessie Award winner Michelle Dorrance, the inspirational one-legged tap dancer Evan Ruggiero who will provide a special performance – amputated in 2010 as a result of bone cancer, Karen Callaway Williams, Jason Janas, Hillary-Marie Michael, Jeff Foote, Hank Smith, Kyle Wilder, Josie Say, Boston Tap Company, NJTAP2 (NJTAP Ensemble youth company), Beat Club Crew, What’s On Tap, Mary No & Co, and many more!
Tap N’ Time will be on Saturday, August 25 at 7:30 pm at the Westminster Arts Center of Bloomfield College and we have four tickets to give away to one lucky Barista Kids reader.
