Phyllis Diller on Parenting

I was so sad to hear about the passing of Phyllis Diller at the age of 95. As a child, I loved her when she would appear on The Muppet Show. She was a true talent, funny and smart. And so very smart when it came to parenting. Here are some of Phyllis Diller’s gems on parenting:

“Always be nice to your children because they are the ones who will choose your rest home.”

“Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.”

“Most children threaten at times to run away from home. This is the only thing that keeps some parents going.”

“We spend the first twelve months of our children’s lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next twelve telling them to sit down and shut up”
