More school closures announced for Wednesday, October 31—Halloween. This is Day 3 of school closures.

Check our list often, if you have internet and/or power, as we’ll be updating throughout the day.

Halloween Events

Montclair Halloween Trick-or-Treat Postponement: Due the dangerous conditions on township streets, Montclair Township asks residents to postpone Halloween trick-or-treating activities to Saturday, November 3, between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 5:00 p.m.

Due to the state of emergency, the Borough of Glen Ridge has postponed Trick or Treating until Friday, November 2, 2012.

Bloomfield cancels trick or treating, says new date TBA

Put your Kids Costumes ON  & Hop on over to Boone Studio for the Halloween Party on Wednesday Morning. Choose your hour,9:30am to 10:30am and 10:30am to 11:30am. 4$/ child for each hour. They will have music, dancing, yoga, games and treats. (Feel free to bring your own Halloween treats as well…)

Halloween Parade and Costume Contest
Who:
 All ages.
What: This annual event is sponsored by the Maplewood Village Alliance and Maplewood Chamber of Commerce. The festivities include trick or treating, music and dancing and prizes for best costumes.
Where: Maplewood Village between Baker Street and Durand Road, Maplewood, NJ.
When: Wednesday, October 31 from 3 pm – 5 pm. Postponed  to Friday, November 2, 3 –5 pm due to the storm.
Cost: Free.

Howl-O-Ween
Who:
 All ages.
What: Celebrate Howl-o-ween at Turtle Back Zoo as the zoo will be open from 4-9pm for safe trick or treating. Come in costume and ride the ”spooky train” (weather permitting) or enjoy the magical talents of master magician Joe Fisher.
Where: Turtle Back Zoo, 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ.
When: Wednesday, October 31 from 4 pm to 9 pm.   New date TBD
Cost: Event admission is $5 for all ages (as always under 2 is free). Discounted admission rate of $3 per person with valid Zoological Society membership! Click here to register for the event. Event will be held rain or shine. Businesses or groups wishing to sponsor a treat station should call the zoo at 973-731-5800 x224.

School of Rock’s Rocky Horror Live show postponed. New date TBA

    Any news about east orange or orange schools? I live in Carolina..but need to relay info to family up there..stay safe

    Glen Ridge has called a closing for Wednesday also. Trick-or-treating in town will take place (tentatively)on Fri. 11/2. I also hear Middleton Early Learning Center and Pilgrim Nursery Schhool are closed Wednesday, too.

    What to do with the Kids today?! Day three homebound. Are there any trick or treat events? Thinking of heading to the Garden State Plaza. Any ideas?

    The Woodbridge Center Mall is doing Trick or Treating beginning at 4 pm, while supplies last.
