Lacordaire Academy’s Upper School students, grades 9-12, will present their art work entitled Forget the Uniform at Atelier Couture clothing boutique. The collection represents multiple watercolor illustrations featuring conceptual fashion designs inspired by nature. The exhibit will open on Friday, January 18 with a reception from 6 pm – 9 pm at Atelier, a couture and vintage couture retail shop in Montclair.

The public is invited to meet the student artists and enjoy celebratory food, refreshments, and music at an opening night reception. In addition, all guests will be able to vote for their favorite design, which will then be constructed into an authentic outfit and later sold at Atelier. Admission is free.

For information contact Saydi Kaufman at  (973) 744-1156 or email.

I must say, as mom to an aspiring fashion designer, this seems like a great way to give kids a “real world” outlet for their talents. Kudos to whomever organized this at Lacordaire…
