We’re sad to report that Lili, Meili and Beau, the Montclair children’s boutique located in Watchung Plaza, which offered beautifully designed unique gifts, nursery decor, clothing, bedding and furniture, will be closing its shop for good in the next few weeks. The shop owners tells us they will be offering clothing, bedding and nursery decor at 50% off during limited store hours of Wednesday – Saturday from 11 am – 6 pm.

Yes they were beautiful. But ridiculously expensive. Maybe at 50% off I can justify buying something there?

Please, everyone considering opening a business around here – we need affordable items in our local stores. Especially for children.

I never felt welcomed in that store.

Good point, pac2. “Over the Moon” is aptly named, even when there’s a sale. I thought “Just Kidding Around” might be more affordable, being in “Downer Montclair”, but $60 for a pair of infant pajamas? Really? They want us to “shop locally”, but the prices make it difficult for those who don’t live in a mansion on the hill.

I went to Lili, Meili & Beau for new parent gifts. The staff was always very helpful, and I always found something lovely and different. I’m sorry to see it go, but in difficult times it’s certainly a challenge to keep a boutique store going. I with the owner and staff well!
