Marching in the Montclair 4th of July Parade this year is Keller Williams NJ Metro Group, but they won’t be handing out candy…they will be handing out bookmarks.
From June 26 through July 7, Keller Williams NJ Metro Group will be holding a children’s book drive to benefit the Montclair Child Development Center, a non-profit, Head Start program which provides preschool services to low income families in Montclair, Bloomfield, West Orange and Orange. Many of these children also have special needs and receive their services through this program.
Members of the community are encouraged to stop by the Keller Williams NJ Metro Group offices, located at 15 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair (behind the Panera) to drop off used (in good condition) and/or new children’s books on Monday- Sunday from 9 am – 5 pm from June 26 -July 7. The book drive will also continue ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE, so if you have books to donate, bring them to the parade and they will take them as they march!
The book drive is in keeping with the Keller Williams commitment and efforts to serve and celebrate their local communities, which have included a Glenfield Park clean up, the creation of the Miller Street Community Garden, food and donations drives for the Human Needs Food Pantry, cooking for MESH, as well as this year’s partnering with the Montclair Town Council and Department of Public Works on the town’s extensive “Graffiti Clean-Up” program – cleaning street signs, park benches, painting mailboxes, etc.
“We consider this a real life demonstration of the principles of community service that make this company so different from others, and an opportunity for us to give back to the town that has helped make us the #1 Real Estate company in Montclair,” says Hal Benz, Team Leader at Keller Williams NJ Metro Group.
