The Great Sandwich Project

Today the St. Cassian Parish Pack 8 Cub Scouts delivered 150 brown bag meals for the St. John’s soup kitchen in Newark as part of their The Great Sandwich project.

The meals were made last night and delivered this morning to the soup kitchen. Turkey was donated by Hot Bagels Abroad in Bloomfield and fresh fruit from the law firm of Davis Saperstein and Salomon in a Teaneck. The boys collected the other items (bread, cheese, drinks, snacks and candy) from friends family and classmates. The project was run by Nicole Manners First Grade Tiger Cub Assistant leader and Webelo Leaders Jane Bass and Lisa Lehrer. The project is being done in connection with their Messenger of Peace award.
