Video Games I’m pretty sure Santa will be giving my oldest daughter a Nintendo 3 DS for Christmas, but I’m not so sure how many games she’ll be receiving. So I was so happy to learn that Montclair Public Library is now loaning check  the latest video games for free!

The Montclair Public Library has added over 75 games to the library’s collection with more on the way. And with games for all major gaming systems—Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS—few should be unable to capitalize on this new service.

“This should reduce some of the pressure parents get from their kids wanting the latest games,” said Kenneth French, the library’s collection development manager. “We’re giving video-game enthusiasts the ability to keep variety in their game repertoire, while not costing them a cent.”

Among the E-for-Everyone titles available are Madden 25, Minecraft, Portal 2, Just Dance 4, Super Mario Bros., and a number of Lego titles such as Batman 2, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (Years 1-4 and Years 5-7), and Star Wars III. There are also some Teen games, including Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted Infamous, and The Amazing Spider Man.

All game titles will be available for one-week loans in the Children’s Department on the third floor of the Main Library.
