When Lisa Ryder, a Montclair mom, wrote this letter to Lands’ End questioning why the company offered realistic and cool science-themed tees for boys, but not girls, the letter went viral. Many parents agreed and voiced their feelings on the company’s Facebook page.

Yesterday, Lands’ End responded with this message:

You asked, we listened — take a look at our brand-new girls’ science tees (see above). Our first two tees are live on the site — pre-order now to reserve her size (due to the quick turnaround, the shirts will ship in August).

Based on your response to the tees, we will continue to add new styles moving forward.

We say kudos to Lisa for taking a stance and to Land’s End for listening to its customers!

I like that shirt. Especially since it apparently still counts Pluto as a planet. +1 for Pluto!
